The NBA has a sleep-deprivation problem. So says ESPN’s Baxter Holmes. Too many games and too much travel in too little time. I think the NHL is in a similar situation. Players look listless some nights. So much so that it makes me sick to watch my team play the second game of a back-to-back when their opponent hasn’t had to.

I don’t imagine it was the same for these men who played in a six team league. They travelled by train, played fewer games, and barely changed time zones.
