My sister and brother-in-law are currently touring southern Saskatchewan. I spoke with them this morning; they were just west of Wolseley. I told them that province has produced 509 NHL hockey players from towns like Estevan, Swift Current, Melville, and Moose Jaw.
Today I’m saluting Skip Krake (#21). I remember Skip skating in Buffalo, yet he also suited up for Boston and Los Angeles. Plus he played for Cleveland and Edmonton in the WHA. But he was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, an hour and twenty minute drive northwest of Saskatoon.
