High Flying Bird is a new sports film on Netflix. It’s set during a lockout (a work stoppage) and shot using an iPhone 8 smartphone. The story revolves around a young basketball star and his agent, following them through the anxiety that often arrives when people accustomed to earning a significant income find themselves out of work for an unpredictable period of time.
The story moves slow. Really slow. And it requires viewers pay considerable attention to small details and frequent discussions until it all comes together in the final fifteen minutes. It’s my kind of movie.
