I read an article in a recent issue of Outside Magazine, about how a husband and wife’s walk in the woods turned tragic when the woman fell to her death from a monstrous cliff. Of course the story was more complex than that. What appeared at first to be a tragic accident, turned into a convoluted murder case after law officers began investigating the husband’s past.

In a dumbstruck, angry way, I’m fascinated with the idea of a man who leads a lie-filled life, in the pursuit of money, at the expense of his wife and children. And I’m enthralled by a good story when told by a talented writer like Rachel Munroe.

David Ward authors books like The Lost 10 Point Night and Bay of Hope.
