Between last week and next, I’m loading three sequenced images in reverse order so that, ultimately, forward motion might be seen as they scroll on your screen. I consider this trilogy to be a GIF from the Sixties, when photographer Arthur Rickerby was learning to apply the technology required to take three shots per second.

Looking at these photos as a body of work, the defensively-responsible Rousseau advances from the left. Balon pivots. Less noticeable change occurs from Ullman, and Laperierre who is struggling to stand upright. The ref’s movement is minuscule, if at all.
