I lived a year in Australia in the early ‘80s. My Down Under adventure included seven months in Melbourne where I was so starved for news about hockey at home, I would frequently take the tram into town in search of 6-week old copies of the Globe and Mail. It was my Aussie buddy Nick who taught me how to safely get into the city and back.
Times have changed. Nick, who now lives in Allora, Queensland, streams the same 1200+ NHL contests that I do. Except Nick’s hockey viewing is a breakfast event in Oz, a country better known for Ned Kelly, not Red Kelly.
